Hello peopleeeeeeee! (:

I have decided to post cause I am currently rotting at home with nothing to do except homework, and I'm bored doing it. (who enjoys homework anyway) I'm not in sch cause I caught the flu bug and can't go for creative drill later cause my mum don't allow, which is a really sad thing cause I've been looking forward to this since eons ago :/ I'll try talking my mum to let me go so I wouldn't rot further (: Don't worry, it's not H1N1, I'll be back in sch tmrw with a funny voice, but better than this morning's, it was really horrible in the morning :/

Anyway, I miss the class super duper alot, we didn't do anything on March the Second. :( so we should have two class outings in Sept and Dec respectively to make up for it, how's that! :D we should have a cass cake again and not have any utensils HAHAHA :D EH WAIT NOW H1N1 CANNOT SHARE FOOD :(

I am danm excited for a class reunion, I haven't seen Kim Lam in ages :( And I rarely see A class people either cause I only get banded with B and C class people, I'm on the third floor :( SOOOOOOO, CONCLUSION: WE NEED A CLASS OUTING SOON :D Stayovers would be fine too, I don't mind! (:

Hey 2-3!

I was reading the past posts, and realised how much we've gone through in 2008. Though not entirely and genuinely as a class, we still were pretty united.

Remember the home econs project thing? If you read back, you'd realise that we encouraged each other one way or another and we were ranting everything out too. At first we were not together at all, then bonded together, and now I guess we're kinda drifting apart.

I wonder who still visits this blog on a regular basis nowadays. Even in school, we walk past each other, like we've already forgotten each other :/ Kinda weird, isn't it? Although we're not in the same class anymore, we're still in the same school, and we'll forever be 2-3 '08 no matter what and nothing's going to change that.

I miss all of you.
Actually, I also miss the times were we pissed teachers off by not answering them and being so unresponsive! I think we would have won the quietest class contest :/
The chalet was rather memorable too.

If only we'd at least say hi or smile next time, it'll stilll be shown that 2-3 '08 still stands.

Hello everyone!!
Let me post abt what i will miss and is gonna miss abt this class!!

1. i really missed the chalet we had last year. It was alot of fun though only some went and only some could stay overnight!!
2. I will miss going to a class with music blasting into my ears!!
3. I will miss going for recess together where we will gossip. This only started in term 3 but at least we did this together in 2 terms!!
4. I will miss the 2-3 cake!!
5. I will miss laughing at ppl who pulled their socks really high because they didn't want to be fined!!

Hey 2-3!

LAST CLASS PHOTO TAKEN TOGETHER! :( How sad.

The class is being spilted into many different classes. A few went to A1, some to A2, some to A3, Alot of us went to B1, Some to B2, a couple to C1. I'm not sure if anyone went to any other classes. But, our class is considered quite alright. None of us dropped to normal, None of us retained.

I dont think i'll be posting on this blog this often after 2nd Jan 09. We'll miss each other, i know. But things still have got to move on. We'll make new friends and at the same time, remember each other.

We'll not forget how we tricked poor Mr Ng, that was funny. How we almost burn down the bio lab, how we stayed with each other when we were accused of scratching the handbell tables last year. How we do not respond to teachers, How we hid in the classroom early in the morning to let the rest of the class think that we are not in school yet and the classroom is locked. How we became horny. Hey 2-3..

This is Christa here.
There is only like a few more days with each other. Isnt it so sad. I must let you people know, I LOVE YOU GUYS. The year's coming to an end. Cherish the times we have left with each other. It isnt too late to make new friends. It isnt too late to forgive your enemies. You people must always remember this, you are special. After this year, there might not be the same few people around you, you'll be in a different environment, a different class. Make new friends, but, continue to remember 2-3. Always remember the times we had together. Vic and I with the help of some others in the class will be creating a class video to help you girls remember 2-3. One more week left with each other, please, try to love the class even if you dont. Make everyone's sec2 life a happy one.

There'll be interclass softball competition tmr. It'll be the last competition as a class. We won the recycling competition, A class won the banner competition. I'm not trying to say that we will win this. But, try your best. The team wont blame u if you make a mistake. Win or lose, we are WINNERS. Always remember that. We are WINNERS.

Enjoy our last few post-exam activities with each other. Play hard, study hard. Stay as a united 2-3 :D

This is Bindhu here.
Wow, 2 years have gone by(almost like in a flash). We've all got back our results, some of us are disappointed, some are happy. Congrats to everyone who has done well and has met the criteria for the classes you want to go to!

Back to a more melancholic topic, we have less than 2 weeks together, and most of these days will be taken up by lessons. I know I'll really miss you guys and some of not so nice yet amusing things we do on a regular basis.

I know some of us have been mean to other people and I'm sorry for that, heh. :( I'm glad that this year, we're all not so clique-y and almost all of us have managed to make friends that will last us through our entire secondary school life and probably further than that.

I feel kind of sad thinking about it because even though we'll all see each other again, it's not going to be like it was this year.

7. WHAT KIND OF SOCIAL PROBLEMS DID THE LOCALS FACE AS AN IMMEDIATE RESULT OF THE WAR?

When the British returned to Singapore after the war, it set up the British Military Administration (BMA) to solve the following post-war problems:

(a) Food Shortage Problems
- Reason 1: Rice-Producing countries did not have extra rice to sell
- Reason 2: Many ships were also destroyed, thus hindering rice transportation.
- Reason 3: Sunken ships at the harbor blocked entrance
- Reason 4: Few warehouse left for storage
- Result: Scarcity led to the existence of a Black Market and profiteers = hardship
- Solution 1: Clearing of sunken shups/explosives, repairing of wharves/warehouses
- Solution 2: Food rationing, prices control & penalty for profiteers
- Solution 3: People's restaurants & Family Restaurants & Feeding centres
- Successful? No- due to population increase in the 1950s

(b) Educational Problems
- Places need for the normal intake + over-aged children
- Lack of proper facilities & teaching materials
- Solution 1: Re-opened schools & start new schools
- Solution 2: Ordered teaching materials & essentials/furniture

(c) Disruption of Water, Electricity, Gas
- Water: Faulty pipes/ filters/ facilities, dirty reservoirs

Most of you have already watched this awesome movie that does not really deviate from the book(which is actually a first, e.g. HARRY POTTER-I hate the director, does he think he can get away from the vindictive rampages of ardent fans?-

Anyway, this movie is filled with mystery, thrill and suspense. And there's even a twinkle of romance between Queen Susan and Prince Caspian.

Now that I'm on the subject of royalty, I must say Kings Peter and Edmund and Prince Caspian look good enough to drool over. Skander Keynes and William Moseley sooooo grew up from being lanky and weirdish. Okay, William was always hot, but Skander is just gorgeous in this.

So, bring at least ONE SERVING of fruits per person.

World Vision Kids Kits Programme
World Vision Singapore's Kids Kits initiative is a part of World Vision's Gift-In-Kind (GIK) ministry. Our GIK programme is a conduit for Singaporeans to help poor children and families in tangible ways by engaging companies, schools and churches to supply useful gifts that meet the urgent and specific needs of a community in developing a country.

A KIDS KIT CONSIST OF:
-One unused school bag
-8 sticks of wooden pencils
-8 sticks of ballpoint pens - blue or black ink
-2 A5 notebooks
-One pencil sharpener
-One large ink eraser
-One ruler with metric measurements
-One package (at least 8 sticks) regular-size crayons
-One package (at least 8 sticks) regular size colour pencils
ALL MUST BE UNUSED!
Each class must have 5 kids kits.

DEADLINE: 22nd and 23rd april (which is tomorrow and wed) So it's urgent!
If anyone has got any of the above, please bring tomorrow.
SMS/call/MSN me if you are going to bring anything.
Or for any reasons you cant SMS/Call/MSN me, nevermind, just bring tomorrow!

Anyway, each of you are supposed to write a reflection on the Singapre Kindness Movement thing which is writing note of encouragement to PL(pri). Dear 2-3ians,
Why is it always me blogging -.-
Anyway, today after school me and Christa stayed back until about 5.45pm just to clean up the entire classroom. We moved all the tables and stacked up all the chairs, and swept the floor. Then we arranged back all the tables and chairs. We got new markers for the whiteboard too. I want to ask you people, if 2 people can clean the whole classroom which is filthy, why can't the 4 duty girls keep the classroom clean everyday? We recieved comments from 3 teachers saying that our classroom is very dirty. Is sweeping the floor very difficult? Arranging the tables? Bringing the markers down to exchange for new ones during your break? I find you people weird!
The classroom is very neat now and one more thing, no leaving of books under the tables please! Thanks(:

Did you know our class donated 45kg worth of recycling materials last week?? I believe this is a tremendous class effort! We have the HIGHEST amount in the whole school. I was very happy you know. THE SONGS ARE GETTING OUTTA HANNNNDDDD!!!

eh, those that want to have their favourite songs, can you like, use radioblogclub?
it's so much neater.
AND it takes MUCH MUCH less space than the stupid IMEEM. zzz.
anyways, to make the blog not lag so much,
only 5 songs are allowed at a time.
after a week, the 5 songs would be removed, and replaced with something else.

So yeah, it's a first come first served basis,
which works only on honesty, and trust.

I'm so sorry I could not come to class today. Was very busy with the CIP Lunch for the elderly.

Just want to wish all of you a Happy Lunar New Year!
Enjoy yourselves, but please do not overstuff yourself with goodies. You don't want to fall ill!

Btw, the t-shirt design is not compulsory to follow, it is just a suggestion. If you like it, the colours can be adjusted, the fonts can be adjusted. We can even make '2-3' in a different colour so it is more prominent. All the colours can be changed very easily with a few clicks. Actually the colour scheme should depend on the colour and material of the shirt chosen. But don't forget, the more colours we choose, the more expensive it will be.

And someone will need to come up with the design for the front of the shirt.

I have quite a few designs in mind, but I chose this because:
- The heart represents the from your teachers. It also represents the love for your fellow classmates.
- The 'interchange' is the class commitee and teachers. They are the 'links' to the whole class.
- Looks like MRT line because S2 life is a journey, a tough journey with many many interchanges, many many stops. Some of you may be at the interchange now, lost, don't know which direction to take. But, it all comes together, it all comes into the same thing, we must be united as a class, then Nothing will be impossible and we can Just do it!
- I think it is a more unique way of presenting everyone in our class, instead of the usual.

Hi all!

Guess we're all stress,tired. The homeworks, tests, projects coming up, just glue u to ur seats n tables spending hours to complete it. Then realising the day is ending. Gotta get read to go to bed, but at the same time having a unsettled mind for the uncompleted work.

Many of us feel dead, tired, not wanting to carry on, feel like dying, all the negative tots. But, its just a passing phase. After passing thru all this, we will get stronger.

I'm oso feeling super stress, with all the negative tots in my mind. But, always bear in mind tt we all hav to stay strong, support each other as we're a class. We will overcome this DISEASE tgt.

So to all out there who are stress, tired. Stay strong, for there are friends out there who care for u, ur family members who r always behind u.

5. 1 day meal plan - Plan healthy meals for John (1 whole day's worth of meals). How many meals should he have? Up to YOU, base it on your research and explain why. Don't forget to balance it with the Healthy Diet Pyramid Balance Template to show me if what you planned is good or not.

6. Decision Making - reasons should be based on the research you had. Example, I chose fish porridge with spinach as it contains carbohydrates from rice, protein from fish and vitamins and minerals from spinach.

7. Planning
a. Time plan (just put 5 min, do this, 10 min do that first. Exact timing will be given later). Remember to be detailed. Don't put 50 min, Cook food. I WILL COOK YOUR HEAD!
b. Ingredient List - I want the food order table like last year, where you need to sort out which one is meat/poultry, dry store, fruit/vegetables, seafood and others. And remember to put the quantity
c. Equipment list is the simplest. Just list what you need and the quantity. Include your items needed for serving.

Firstly, please DO NOT kill John. He is my best friend.

Secondly, you need to learn about TIME MANAGEMENT. All of you are not focused and wasting alot of time being aimless.

Thirdly, what Fiona said is right, I am really disappointed. I think you will get depressed after reading this post, but I simply must post this.

I am disappointed because of the Home Economics mindmap, research, decision making and planning. The mindmap was done in class while you had access to all the information. Part of the research was done in class, with me showing you what to do, step-by-step. Decision making and planning was done in class, with the template shown. WHY DID YOU PRODUCE SUCH SLOPPY WORK AFTER ALL THAT GUIDANCE?

And, you were given more than a week to complete the assignment. Why wait till last minute to email me for help? When you are given an assignment, you should try your best to finish it within that day! Not wait till 12 hours before the deadline then you start! You have 2 whole weeks to look for me and ask me. You had 3 periods of Homec to ask me. You have 2 periods of Live to ask me. Am I that hard to find? I stay in school till 6+ everyday. You could have found me easily in school, if not, 3 people in the class have my handphone number. Only 1 SMSed at last minute to ask questions when I was already asleep (by the way, sorry for not replying your last SMS, I was already too tired till I did not hear the phone ring).

Every subject is important. There is no subject that is of lesser importance. All subjects will contribute to your average, which affects your overall ranking.

You girls are not brainless. You are intelligent girls, please make full use of the marvellous brain God gave you. I am very proud of the class when you were the first ones to start the banner and complete all the banners. I am always proud of our class and will always be proud of our class.

But my world came crashing down today when I checked your work. I hate to scold people, but I had to do it. Today is the first time I actually raised my voice at any student. I myself am amazed at how angry I could get.

How do you want me to mark your work? There is no substance at all. Out of 30 marks, I really have no idea how many marks to give. The coursework IS 80% of your entire Homec marks for this year. No retest, no reretest, no rereretest. This is the final grade!

You will have no idea how sad I was. I really wanted to dig a hole and hide inside to cry. Am I so horrible that none of you dare to approach me to ask questions?

I really have no idea. You tell me.

i just wanna tell all of u. please do well for ur homec hmw. cause Mrs Wong told me tt she is very disappointed in all of us and she hopes that we will do a better job. She says its a important yr for us and yet we are all not taking it seriously. So, i hope we all can just work hard for the homec work and hopefully we all give our best. tks!
